As we’ve said over these tough days, hard times are when character shines through. Our Managing Director, Rob Williams, has today made this announcement:

“We’re going to buy and sell Australian products as much as possible.”

Many of our best brands, such as Zip, Billi, Whelan and Boiling Billy make world-leading products here in Australia. Whenever possible, when our clients are considering upgrading filtered drinking water systems, we are going to make sure our clients always know about the Australian options.

We want to support Australian jobs as much as possible, particularly this year, when so many people are doing it tough.

We’re 100% Australian owned. We’re passionate Australians and we’re trying to do our bit. The market for plumbed-in drinking water systems has become more competitive in recent years, with some foreign manufactured products entering the market. There will always be some that only buy on price, or on the look of a particular tap, so for that reason, we need to continue to offer a variety of brands. But for sure, none of our clients will buy a foreign made product without considering the Aussie made brands.

Some of those foreign products were aimed more at the domestic market, which is not a focus for us at AquaClear. So committing to make a big song and dance about Aussie made products is not such a stretch for us at AquaClear. For years we have been passionate advocates for Australian manufactured products, such as that from Billi, Zip and Whelan. That said, there has been a blizzard of cheaper foreign products arrive on recent years, and some of them are good for some applications – most of them are only really suited for domestic use.
